Read Time: 2 minutes

Across social media, you see many posting they are praying and thinking of Damar Hamlin and his family after he collapsed on the field. One ESPN host put words to action when he prayed live on air in a courageous step of faith.

After hearing the Buffalo Bills organization believed in prayer, ESPN football analyst and former player Dan Orlovsky stopped his on-air broadcast to bow his head and pray aloud.

"It's just on my heart that I want to pray for Damar Hamlin right now," Olovsky says.

He boldly prays, "God, we come to You in these moments that we don't understand, that are hard because we believe that You're God and coming to You and praying to You has impact. We're sad. We're angry. We want answers, but some things are unanswerable. We just want to pray, truly come to You and pray for strength for Damar, for healing for Damar, for comfort for Damar. Be with his family to give him the peace."

Continuing the live prayer, he says, "If we didn't believe that prayer didn't work, we wouldn't ask this of You, God. I believe in prayer. We believe in prayer. We lift up Damar Hamlin's name in Your name. Amen."

A secular sports network analyst sitting down before a live camera and humbly asking God to heal and comfort Hamlin and his family is not something you see everyday. His prayer has been shared across social media, encouraging others to be more open about their faith in Jesus.

Commentator Tarket Fattal posted, "This is awesome, and I think, unbelievably courageous of Dan Orlovsky to openly pray for Damar Hamlin on ESPN. What a moment. THIS is the viral content we need."

Joe Pompliano wrote, "Shoutout to Dan Orlovsky for not just saying thoughts & prayers but actually stopping NFL Live to bow his head, close his eyes, and pray for Damar Hamlin."

Romans 1:16 says, " For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. For it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."

It's encouraging to see followers of Jesus in all walks of life take a step to openly proclaim faith in Jesus Christ. With the current climate of the world today, it's imperative that believers stand firm and unite together to spread the Good News to the lost around them.
