Bible Prophecy Is 'Essential' in Current Russia-Ukraine Climate, End-Times Experts Say

Editor's Note: This is Part 2 of a two-part series. For Part 1, visit this link.

Is our world on the brink of war? That seems to be the question on everyone's mind as news reports of the Russia-Ukraine tensions pour in. Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, California, and Amir Tsarfati of Behold Israel agree that the world is moving to "a very dark place"—one that could explode into World War III. But the two agree on something even more important: In this hour, believers must pay more attention than ever to biblical prophecy.

Russia has planted seeds for the weakening of Europe and NATO for many years, Tsarfati says, adding that this situation goes back to the 1930s when Stalin was in power.

"Stalin starved the Ukrainians because they became nationalists," he says. "They kind of had their own thing going on. And so he basically asked the Ukrainians for a certain grain quota, and they knew they could never really give it to him. So he basically closed all the villages and towns, and they starved to death. It happened before; every Ukrainian know that this is the Ukrainian Holocaust that was done by Stalin. They all know that Russia has no problem bringing them to submission."

Bethel Church Launches Prayer Campaign for Pastor Beni Johnson's Cancer Fight

Bethel Church has launched a 24/7 prayer campaign for co-Pastor Beni Johnson, the wife of Pastor Bill Johnson, as she battles cancer.

The Redding, California-based church posted an update on Beni's health to Instagram, asking believers to stand with them and pray for her, especially for her breathing.

"As many of you already know, Beni Johnson has been on a health journey of overcoming cancer. We've been praying consistently, and she has experienced a measure of breakthrough. Now we feel led by the Lord to invite you, the local and global Church, to join us in contending for her full physical healing," the church wrote.

Prayer Vigils Planned at Canadian Consulates Today in Support of Freedom-Fighting Pastor Artur Pawlowski

While Pastor Artur Pawlowski remains in solitary confinement in a Canadian maximum-security prison, supporters are gathering for prayer vigils at several Canadian consulates in the U.S. to protest his treatment, Fox News reports. The firebrand pastor, who rose to international prominence after Calgary, Alberta, police arrested him for holding church services despite the province's COVID restrictions, was arrested again Feb. 7 on a return trip to the U.S.-Canada border in Coutts, Alberta, after he spoke to members of the Freedom Convoy on Feb. 3. Peaceful prayer protests are planned for today at the Canadian consulates in Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York City and Chicago.

The pastor's son Nathaniel and brother Dawid released a joint video Sunday calling for support in Artur's time of trial. "He went there to deliver a sermon, Lord's Supper and to pray with them," Nathaniel says. "He simply wanted to do his job as a pastor and give them hope. ... This is his 15th arrest and his fifth since the start of the pandemic, all for doing his job as a pastor, not for committing actual crimes."

"Artur just finished three days of Esther's Fast and has begun 21 days of Daniel's Fast," Dawid says. "The first one is to expose the enemy's corruption, and the second is to get an answer from God. We all need for God to intervene more than ever," he says, inviting others to join the fast and cry out to God with them.
