Prophet Hubie Synn: The Significance of Trust for the ‘True Witness’ of Christ

When you trust the Holy Spirit to guide you for every decision, you live with an underlying feeling of never knowing what’s going to happen next. While many label this as a cliché statement, for Hubie Synn, it’s his everyday reality.

Author of Tales of a Wandering Prophet, known for his accurate words from the Lord, Synn spoke with the Charisma staff and encouraged them to “look for the little things” to know where God wants to lead them next. When following the Spirit, believers must trust God, build their faith and remember the impact character has on living out their ministries.

“People know me by my actions,” Synn says. “Be yourselves, but remember your actions, because people look at you all the time.”

He encourages followers of Jesus to continually look for ways to be a “true witness.”

“Your witness will always be there, as your actions are,” he says. This, Synn believes, is the mark of someone who walks closely with their Savior.

When character matches the faith we profess, God will use this to be a light for Him. When we operate in the gifts He has given us, Synn says, we amplify His character within us.

“You have a special gift that God wants to use and to elevate,” Synn says. “Use it to its fullest.”

This is a lesson he learned from his years in prophetic ministry. As Synn grew in his prophetic gift, more trust in the Spirit’s guiding was required. To live a life guided solely by the direction of the Spirit, Synn learned he must “go with the flow” of the Holy Spirit.

Even though many of his meetings involve declaring words from the Lord over those in attendance, Synn doesn’t seek them out. In fact, he says, “I will not step out,” unless he specifically feels the Lord calling him to offer a word. “Because God trusts me with His gift. I’ll do it [prophesy] when God tells me to do it.” {eoa}
