Prophet Joe Joe Dawson says God once told him to read Mark 1:35, and since that time, he’s spent one to two hours every morning in prayer, reading the Word and listening to God’s voice. He says this is how revival in an entire region begins.
“Revival in a region only starts when one person has been burning in the place of prayer for God,” Dawson says. “Revival starts when we say, ‘I will be the sacrifice. I will be the one to lay my life down on the altar, and I will be the one that will burn for God all the days of my life.’ One person can start a revolution. One person can ignite a fire that will never go out in a city, in a region, in a nation.”
When we fail to pray, we give the devil an opportunity to wreak havoc, Dawson says on the Kingdom Mindset podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network. But with prayer, the impossible becomes possible.
“I love the story about George Muller,” Dawson says. “He fed over 9,500 orphans, and he did it over a span of 70 years. He said, ‘We never tried to raise money. We never did fundraisers.’ And over those 70 years, no one orphan ever missed a single meal. It was because he was a great man of prayer.
“He said that there would even be times that there would be 10 minutes before lunch, and they would have a knock on the door and somebody would have brought lunch for the orphans. And he said, ‘I owe it all to God.'”
