Evangelist: A 'Bullying Spirit' Is Attacking the Church

Evangelist Dennis Funderburg warns about the dangers of believing the lie that you're not good enough. If we live with any motive other than to obey and please Jesus, and we succumb to the curveballs thrown at us, we're not living up to our fullest potential in Christ.

"Our Goliath slayer is someone who will not yield to the bullying spirit, a bullying mindset where literally your own mind is an enemy against you because the enemy has infiltrated and keeps bullying you and telling you you're no good. You're not strong enough, fast enough, smart enough. You're not called; you're not anointed. It goes on and on," he says.

But on the "Jesus Is Still Jesus" podcast, Funderburg urges us to shed light on Satan's tactics so we can recognize an attack when it comes. If you recognize the enemy's main go-to weapons of intimidation and fear, Funderburg says, you can plan ahead of time for how to handle the temptation to give in.

"[Demons] know, if a Christian steps onto the battlefield, they have lost; they cannot rise against the very throne of God. And so when they attack a Christian, they know that if the Christian figures out that an attack on them is an attack on God Himself, that God's going to rise up and defend them. So what does the enemy do? [He] tries to intimidate them to keep them from stepping onto the battlefield."
