Why Holy Spirit Told This 10-Year-Old Girl to Go to Congo and Disrupt Wars

Cassandra Lee was only 10 years old when she heard the Holy Spirit tell her to go to the Republic of Congo.

She had felt called to mission work since she was a little girl, but she didn’t know exactly where. So she prayed fervently for God to show her.

“Finally, a few months later, I felt God speak again and say, ‘Go to that center of Africa. That’s where I’m calling you to go,'” Lee tells Taylor Berglund on the “Charisma News” podcast. “So ever since I was a child, I’ve been focused on that region. And that was the height of Congo’s war in 1996 or 1997.”

With that heavy burden on her heart, Lee pored over research of Congo, which was heavy material for someone her age. She studied about the rape, rebel raids and wars that plagued the nation. And her heart broke.

“I didn’t initially think to myself, Oh, I’m going to bring education to stop the cycle of war,” she says. “It was just this breaking of my heart saying, I have to do something. I don’t know what I’m going to do, but I have to do something.

As soon as Lee finished school, she traveled to Congo. Once again, she heard the voice of God telling her that if she wanted to see change, she had to educate people.

But education required building quality schools. Listen to the podcast to hear how God prophetically led Lee and her husband to found Justice Rising International. It’s a story you won’t want to miss!
