WP Films, the independent film studio behind the cult hit trilogy Finger of God, Furious Love and Father of Lights, is attempting again to set crowdfunding milestones for Christian films with the debut of its Kickstarter campaign for a new film project called Heavenquest: A Prilgrim’s Progress.

Heavenquest is based on the original work of John Bunyan and his 1678 allegorical masterpiece, The Pilgrim’s Progress. The movie, directed by Matt Bilen, written and produced by Darren Wilson and the team at WP Films, will be a highly stylistic, fantastical and beautiful story with themes of hope, sacrifice and ultimately salvation. Although reimagined, Heavenquest will still focus on the story of a man, desperate to escape his dark past, who undertakes a dangerous journey filled with peril in hope of finding his freedom.

WP Films currently holds the title for the most funded Christian film on Kickstarter of all time, with Holy Ghost, and aims to shatter their previous record of $357,655 with their current goal of $1.2 million. The campaign runs for 30 days and will end at 9:00 PM EST on April 21, 2015. Exciting parts of the campaign page include a sneak peek concept trailer for Heavenquest, and a similarly epic list of rewards, including the chance to play a role in the movie.
