‘The Voice’ Features Lauren Daigle in Season Finale

The finale of NBC’s The Voice featured finalists worship pastor Jim Ranger and 15-year-old sensation Carter Rubin, who later received the honor of becoming the music competition’s season 19 winner.

Rubin had performed Lauren Daigle’s wildly popular Grammy Award-winning song, “You Say,” earlier in the season. And the Christian artist was invited to share her rendition of the song at the finale.

Daigle’s “You Say” logged 66 consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot Christians Song chart. The song’s success broke boundaries within the Christian music circle as a true crossover piece, performing well on both the Christian and secular music charts.

The last time a CCM song crossed over and became a secular hit was “I Can Only Imagine” by MercyMe in 2003.

Daigle tweeted about the event:

The performance featured a socially distanced orchestral accompaniment and left the virtual audience roaring.
