Since its release in Dec. 2017, The Chosen, the first multiseason TV series to chronicle the life of Jesus from the perspective of His friends, His disciples, has encouraged believers to dig deeper into the personal life of their Savior and strengthen their faith in new ways.

The eight-episode first season tells the stories of characters in the Gospels who encountered Jesus and were changed forever.

The series has now been approved to air on TBN in its television premiere starting Monday, Feb. 8, 2021.

Additionally, TBN is airing an original teaching series, The Chosen Unveiled with Rabbi Jason Sobel, to serve as a companion program that unpacks the theology behind The Chosen.

In this interview with creative director Dallas Jenkins and members of The Chosen creative team, Jenkins shares how the Lord placed the parable of feeding the 5,000 on his heart during the series’ conception. And as Jenkins sought out ways to make this dream a reality, the analogy began to hold even more weight. “This was my loaves and fishes,” he says, as he remembers wondering how anyone would partner with him to produce this story—but God.

The Chosen, Jenkins says, is a project that allows everyone involved, from the creative team to supporters, to bring their loaves and fishes, and watch God multiply them.

Watch as they reveal the divinely orchestrated start to the series.
