Lauren Daigle Receives 6 Nominations for Dove Awards

Christian singer Lauren Daigle received six nominations for the 50th annual GMA Dove Awards, which is more than any other artist received this year.

Natalie Grant, Jekalyn Carr and Karen Peck announced the nominees on Facebook Live.

Daigle was nominated for artist of the year and for song of the year, according to AP.

Daigle made headlines recently when her hit song “You Say” crossed over from its top spot on Christian music charts to No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary Radio chart. Her song displaced Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You” after 33 weeks in first place. No other Christian song has made such a crossover.

Both Kirk Franklin and for KING & COUNTRY got five Dove nominations, and Phil Wickham, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, TobyMac and Crowder all received four.

Writer and producer Wayne Haun received the most nominations of all with 10.

Voting ends Aug. 28, and the awards are set to take place in Nashville on Oct. 15. Trinity Broadcast Network will air the event on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
