IHOPKC Issues Urgent Call to Prayer as Terrorists Near Heidi Baker’s Ministry in Mozambique

Evangelists Rolland and Heidi Baker have reportedly contacted Mike Bickle and the International House of Prayer to ask believers for worldwide prayer for what they are calling a “great crisis” in their Iris Global ministry in Africa, according to a post on Facebook.

The prayer request was posted by the Global Prayer Room & Revival Center– New York City and claims to be released from Mike Bickle and the International House of Prayer. The release was not available on Mike Bickle’s official Facebook page, but was posted by the official IHOPKC Twitter account, giving the claims credibility. Two other users on Twitter reposted the same or similar information prior to the official IHOPKC post, verifying the prayer request’s authenticity. A video from Baker herself was reportedly circulating Saturday but has since been removed from Facebook.

In the post, Bickle says Heidi Baker has told him that terrorists are attacking her area and “beheading people and burning villages” in Pemba, Mozambique. Baker asked that IHOP spread the word to “urgently” pray for the people of the Pemba area as well as Iris Global, as terrorists are attacking villages in the Pemba area and “numerous” people have been killed in the last few days.

The post says the Bakers will be forced to move 250 students out of Pemba to Johannesburg, South Africa, in the next few days. Baker reportedly told IHOP that roads have been closed off in Pemba and that military are trying to protect the areas but cannot get in.

News24 reported Sunday morning that Muslim militants have been attacking villages throughout Mozambique, causing thousands to flee to Pemba. Reports say militants have burned over 230 houses and decapitated 23 people over the last three weeks.

The prayer alert has been corroborated by at least two sources on Twitter

Heidi Baker posted this on her own Facebook page Saturday: “In the midst of hardships, we are continuing to press on to preach the gospel. Yesterday, we went to encourage one of our local churches across the bay and finalized the purchase of land to build a new church/school/water catchment! We also spent the day worshiping and pressing into what God is going to do in Northern Mozambique. Thank you all for praying with us!

“We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia (or the district of Cabo Delgado). We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many (2 Corinthians 1:8-11).”

Join with us to pray for the Bakers’ ministry and the believers in the Pemba, Mozambique area, for their protection from terrorists and for the peace that surpasses all understanding.
