Nearly 100 children report a black figure at their school haunted them in incidents now called "contagious demonic possession or interference," according to reports.

In Peru, 11- to 14-year-olds report a "tall man in black with a beard" tried to kill them.

"It's disturbing for me to think about it. It's as if someone kept on chasing me from behind," a 12-year-old reportedly said. "It was a tall man all dressed in black and with a big beard, and it felt like he was trying to strangle me. My friends say I was screaming desperately, but I don't remember much."

The Peruvian incident reportedly began at the end of April.

"We don't understand how this has kept on going on," Dr. Antony Choy told national network Panamericana TV.

Thousands of miles away, a similar figure allegedly haunts students in Malaysia.

On April 20, the school closed due to mass hysteria over sightings of a "black figure," according to the TelegraphAuthorities called in Islamic experts to eradicate the demons, as well as scholars and witch doctors.

"Our students were possessed and disturbed [by these spirits]. We are not sure why it happened. We don't know what it is that affected us," a school official told BBC. "But the place is a bit old, and these children can be disobedient and sometimes throw their rubbish around the school grounds. Perhaps they hit some 'djinns' and offended the spirits."

Female Muslim students also exhibited apparent demonic possession at a school in France a few weeks before the Malaysia case.

An Imam attempted to cast the devils out, but parents were furious.

The BBC reports strange cases like these date back to the 1980s.
