John Paul Jackson, an international speaker, author and founder of Streams Ministries International in Flower Mound, Texas, passed away on Wednesday due to medical complications, as Charisma News reported yesterday.

Jackson's wife, Diane, took to Facebook to thank everyone for the prayer and outpouring of encouragement the family has received over the last year. Jackson's ministry had called for urgent prayer over the weekend. Jackson had battled with cancer in 2014.

"After recovering miraculously from cancer surgery last summer and returning to the activities and ministry work he loved, we found out a few months ago that the pleurisy and inflammation John Paul was experiencing in his lungs could be a sign of something more serious," Diane says. "Despite the heartfelt prayers from those closest to him and many of you around the world, my husband, John Paul, went to be with the Lord peacefully at our home this morning surrounded by family and loved ones."

A successful author of books like Naturally Supernatural and part of the Kansas City Prophets in the '80s, Jackson is perhaps best known for his gift of interpreting dreams from a biblical basis. He founded Streams Ministries as a teaching institution to empower others to exercise this same gift.

"God has told us to equip those so that when we leave this earth somebody else will know how to do what we do," John Paul said in a recent interview. "I said to the Lord, I will teach everybody I can how to do everything I do."

In 1993, Jackson established Streams Ministries International as an extension of that promise! Since its birth, it has offered classes and resources as a means to teach, motivate and encourage individuals to walk in greater spiritual maturity, Jackson shepherded its growth and development over the last two decades.

Jackson's vision to teach the world led to an invaluable relationship with Daystar Television Network. Daystar launched the program "Dreams and Mysteries with John Paul Jackson" in 2013, which reaches into every country around the world.

"John Paul Jackson was not only our dear friend but one of God's relevant prophetic voices that will be greatly missed. His graduation is our loss but heaven's gain," says Marcus and Joni Lamb, founders of Daystar Television Network. "Our love and prayers are with the family, his staff and all those who have been ministered to by his gifted teaching and ministry. We will see him again!"

Driven by a determination to empower generations to come, Jackson leaves behind a legacy that he summed up best when he said, "We are to live a life for the sake of others. Not for our own sake."

Jackson is survived by his wife, son Aaron Jackson and daughter-in-law Jennifer Jackson, son Micah Jackson and three grandchildren, Kyler, Lauren and Brett.

In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established to assist the family with the burden of medical and funeral expenses. For those wishing to contribute, please go to daystar.com/JohnPaul, and for more information on John Paul's ministry, visit streamsministries.com.
