A suicide bomber who attacked Syrian government troops was revealed by U.S. officials to be an American citizen and Florida resident.

Those who knew Moner Mohammad Abu-Salha have some interesting things to say. Orlando Taylor, a friend of his brother, deemed him a "real activist" and a "full Muslim." One report even stated that he spoke in tongues.

"He spoke in tongues. He sang the Koran and all that," said Taylor, referring to the traditional practice of reciting the Qur'an in its original Arabic.

It is evident, however, that Taylor was not referring to the gift of tongues that comes with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, whom Muslims incorrectly identify with the angel Jibral (Gabriel).

Abu-Salha was by all accounts a devout Muslim, participating in religious festivals and fasting.

According to the Washington Post, Abu-Salha's war codename ended in al-Amriki ("the American").

Before heading to Syria to engage in terrorism, Abu-Salha attended various colleges stateside and lived in a gated community near the beach.
