Judge Orders Netflix to Stop Airing Blasphemous Christmas Special Depicting Jesus as Gay

A Brazilian judge has ordered Netflix to stop streaming a Christmas parody that many believers find to be blasphemous.

The special, called The First Temptation of Christ, depicts 30-year-old Jesus as a gay man trying to hide his love interest from his family.

A Change.org petition garnered over 2.3 million signatures to demand Netflix to pull the offensive show.

Porta dos Fundos, the Brazilian comedy group that created the special, was attacked with a gasoline bomb in their Rio de Janeiro headquarters on Christmas Eve. Thankfully, no one was killed or injured.

Three men created a video days later claiming responsibility for the attack.

But Porta dos Fundos is standing by its blasphemous film, saying it falls under their right to freedom of expression.

Judge Benedicto Abicair disagrees and says the parody has harmed the "honor of millions of Catholics," according to Sky News.

He also says withdrawing the film would be "beneficial not only to the Christian community, but to Brazilian society which is mostly Christian."

Netflix says it will not comment on the ruling.

The trailer of The First Temptation of Christ shows Jesus' family preparing a surprise party for his 30th birthday. When Jesus comes in and sees the crowd, he tries to push his effeminate male friend he brought with him out the door but is unable to.

What commences after that is nothing short of blasphemy, complete with sexual innuendos, a man who calls himself God (claiming to be the main character's biological father) and hints at fake Jesus' not-so-subtle homosexuality.

This isn't the first time Porta dos Fundos has offended Christians with its edgy sketches, reports the Blaze. Over a year ago, they created The Last Hangover, a "biblical Hangover spoof" that Netflix also released. According to that film's description, "the apostles awaken to find Jesus is missing and must piece together the events of the previous night's wild Last Supper."
