The Salvation of Millions May Depend on This

Could knowledge of the Bible mean the difference between heaven and hell?

Dr. Steve Crowther, president of Grace College of Divinity, believes so. Deep understanding of the Scriptures, Crowther says, could translate to eternal life for millions of lost souls.

“We, all of us, are called to make disciples of all nations, are we not?” Crowther said on a recent episode of “Charisma Connection” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “As Christians, God wants us to deeply and profoundly understand His Word not so that we can display our amazing knowledge to others. But the more deeply and profoundly that we understand something, the more we are able to simply explain it to others.

“The more profoundly we understand the Trinity, the more simply we can explain it to, say, an indigenous tribe in northern Brazil. If the person delivering the message doesn’t understand as well as they should, how can they relay the message to people such as that?

“We could have the best message in the word, but if we are not effective in communication, then nobody benefits from it. Better understanding and deeper study of Scripture by believers can help bring more of the lost to salvation. God wants us to become excellent so that you can become approved as workmen.”
