A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and philanthropist entered into the gates of heaven this month at age 97.

"Mrs. Rita Pulido de Contreras, took her place among the saints that are worshipping our Lord Jesus Christ July 14, 2017," relatives posted to Facebook. "Her body was strong until the end leaving it with never experienced any chronic disease and never taking any prescription drug for any chronic condition. Her spirit simply left her body."

Although Contreras may not be a household name, there's no doubt her work impacted the world.

Contreras built Oasis of Hope Hospital, a world-renowned cancer treatment hospital in Tijuana, Mexico, and administered it for her husband, Dr. Ernesto Contreras Sr.

She also built schools, churches, supported countless pastors financially, put many children through school and taught everyone the meaning of being a servant of Christ. She raised six children, 20 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Contreras used her gifts of administration and generosity to build a healing legacy that would touch the lives of 100,000 people facing cancer who were treated at her hospital, coming from 60 countries over the last 54 years.

"We had been planning her 100th birthday party for the last few years. God had already planned a much more important celebration for her and so we join our Heavenly Father in celebrating the life of an incredible woman of faith and precious child of God," according to the Facebook post.
