Congregation members of a 145-year-old church saw first hand the prophetic fulfillment of Isaiah 40:8.

Tornadoes ripped through Virginia's St. John's Baptist Church earlier this week, decimating the building and everything inside it—except for about two dozen Bibles and songbooks, according to reports.

"It looks like a war zone," church member Joe Pollard said. "It's a miracle no one was killed."

The Bibles look a bit tattered, but their pages remind readers of Isaiah 40:8: "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God shall stand forever."
