New York Times best-selling author David Limbaugh says prophecies in the Old Testament that were later fulfilled with the coming of Jesus Christ in the New Testament played a key role in bringing him "over the tipping point from skeptic to believer."

Limbaugh, author of The Emmaus Code: Finding Jesus in the Old Testament, told The Church Boys podcast that Old Testament predictions regarding the coming of Christ were so compelling that he decided to become a believer.

"One thing that blew me away and got me over the tipping point from skeptic to believer was the amazing Messianic prophecies that were fulfilled in such specificity," Limbaugh said. "Micah 5:2—the prophet Micah in the Old Testament predicted the actual city of Jesus' birth, Bethlehem."

Radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh, Limbaugh's brother, says the book is "gonna shake up a lot of people."

"It's called The Emmaus Code, but it is the subheadline here that's gonna rock a lot of people: 'Finding Jesus in the Old Testament.' That's a bridge that you're not supposed to cross, and yet he has written an entire book on it. It's just out."

In the book, Limbaugh "unlocks the mysteries of the Old Testament and reveals hints of Jesus Christ's arrival through all 39 Old Testament books. The key to the secrets of the Old Testament, Limbaugh argues, is the crucial New Testament encounter between the risen Jesus and two travelers on the road to Emmaus."

On The Church Boys podcast, Limbaugh said that Christ's life, death and resurrection were all predicted in the Old Testament. He cited various prophecies:

"No bones will be broken, He'll be falsely accused, He will stand silent in the face of His accusers, He will be ridiculed and scorned and mocked, His robe ... they'll gamble for His robe and His clothes," Limbaugh said. "He'll be crucified along with the sinners, the transgressors."
