When Josh and Anna Duggar welcomed their fourth addition this weekend, friends and foes alike jumped to give their opinions.

“Congratulations on the new addition, and God bless your growing family with health, faith and happiness,” one commenter posted on Josh’s Instagram.

And on the Duggar family’s Facebook page: “Congratulations, Josh, Anna and Grandparents of Precious little Meredith Grace Duggar!!! [heart emoticon] May God continue to bless your entire family!!! [heart emoticon].”

But not all the commenters were well-wishers.

The eldest Duggar has been embroiled in scandal since he admitted to molesting five girls, including some of his sisters.

“… Can’t believe him, PATHETIC!! I just can’t understand why Anna doesn’t have a problem with it!! If (he) was sick in the head enough to do it to his sisters, what’s stopping him doing it to McKenzie or (Meredith)!!!!” One person wrote on Josh’s Instagram.

The naysayers are not dampening the joy for the expanding family, though.

“We are just rejoicing with Josh and Anna,” Duggar family matriarch Michelle Duggar says in a video posted to the family’s website. “Sweet little Meredith Grace is beautiful, and I know that MacKenzie, Michael and Marcus are just loving having their little sister here.”
