Pastor Kong Hee has seen his fair share of controversy lately, but the founder of Singapore's City Harvest megachurch is still ministering at congregations around the world. And he's taken a liking to Oasis Church (OCC) in Los Angeles.

"What a privilege to minster at OCC's newly renovated 100-year-old Cathedral that it has recently purchased," Hee wrote on his Twitter page. Hee also posted a photo and called OCC one of the "greatest churches in L.A." noting how "the sense of unity and community is very strong in this church" and finally calling it the "most responsive church I have spoken to at the LA Hollywood area."

That's high praise from Hee, who founded his non-denominational church in Singapore in 1989 with the message that encourages the congregation to engage culture with the same servant heart Jesus showed during His time on earth.

Each week, City Harvest Church holds 15 worship services, about 800 cell groups and five support fellowships. The church's school of theology has equipped close to 6,000 students from over 30 nations. The congregation numbers over 20,000.

Philip and Holly Wagner are the lead pastors of Oasis Church. They started Oasis in 1984 as a church plant in Beverly Hills with 10 people. According to the website, Oasis has grown to become a racially diverse church known for its local and global outreach to the impoverished, with a special focus on caring for orphans in Africa.

For his part, Hee is still embroiled in a two-year legal drama. A judge ruled that six current and former leaders—including Hee—need to answer allegations that they misused millions in church funds to finance the career of Kong's pop-star wife, Sun Ho. The trial is expected to resume in July.
