Even before WikiLeaks began releasing the Podesta Emails, most Americans understood the liberal mainstream media was in the tank for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

Now, they know for sure.

Among the more than 17,000 emails released so far is one in which Politico's chief political correspondent, Glenn Thrush, sent an article about Clinton to her campaign's chairman, John Podesta for approval. In the email, dated April 29, 2015, he wrote:

Hey sir— sorry to bother — OTR question

Was working on a fundraising story (when Maggie and Matea's stories popped) Been talking to bundlers who told me that one of the reasons you need to get HRC out on the road was simply that the Hillfunders mid-level strategy was getting enough traction and you had to mine the old 08 crowd a little quicker than u thought... Also- to be a pain in the [expletive] — I've heard that u were never entirely on board with the whole 'flat' idea in the first place.

Cheers/Thrush

When Podesta balked at Thrush's characterization, the reporter asked if he could send "couple grafs (paragraphs), OTR (off the record) to make sure I'm not [expletive] anything up." The Clinton campaign chairman agreed, but apologized for the several-hour delay in responding, noting he had been on a plane.

"No worries," Thrush wrote. "Because I have become a hack I will send u the whole section that pertains to u Please don't share or tell anyone I did this Tell me if I [expletive] up anything."

The Daily Caller investigated the email exchange in a report it published Tuesday morning. Politico initially responded to a number of questions, but then clammed up when pressed for more answers.

But there were more emails in the WikiLeaks stash related to the conversation. In one, a group of staffers discussed the fact that Thrush had been calling, asking about the Priorities PAC. Here are some others:

April 11, 2015—Thrush sought Podesta's approval on a reference to himself in an article about Clinton's candidacy announcement, and when Podesta said it was inaccurate, Thrush promised to "fix it."

May 21, 2015—Thrush sought Podesta's help with a "Sidney (Blumenthal) thing" followed by some joking about it between Podesta and Clinton campaign Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri.

May 28, 2015—Podesta and Center for American Progress President Neera Tanden discuss Clinton image issues, which includes a joke about one of their campaign offices being shuttered "but for Glenn Thrush."

July 22, 2015—Thrush practically begs Podesta to participate in his "relaunched, rebranded" podcast.

Dec. 3, 2015—Thrush sought Podesta's help with an "Obama WH story."

March 2, 2016—Thrush asked for permission to use a quote from Podesta.
