The Real Reason You Didn’t See Me on MSNBC Last Week

Brett Kavanaugh

Last week, MSNBC invited me to speak about evangelicals’ response to the sexual-assault allegations against Brett Kavanaugh. (You may remember me inviting you to watch my interview in my last Strang Report.) They wanted to hear my thoughts because some on the left are confused as to why many conservative Christians are still backing Kavanaugh despite the accusations.

The New York Times recently published an article reporting that the religious right is flustered by the situation and threatens to stay home from the polls Nov. 6 if Kavanaugh’s nomination falls apart. The article cited several evangelical leaders, including Franklin Graham, who said, “I hope the Senate is smarter than this, and they’re not going to let this stop the process from moving forward and confirming this man.”

Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist Dallas, also expressed his dismay at the left’s vicious attack on Kavanaugh.

“I can say with absolute certainty that the Democrats don’t care who is telling the truth. Their only interest is in delaying and derailing this confirmation,” Jeffress said, according to the Times.

Unfortunately, my interview with MSNBC was canceled at the last minute. I was in my seat, mic in place, ready to talk about Kavanaugh when I was told we needed to delay my interview because President Donald Trump was about to make a statement. But although I wasn’t able to share my thoughts on MSNBC, I was able to share a few points on a Facebook Live video I recorded on my way back from the studio.

As I mentioned in the video, the chances of me getting an interview with Trump are very good—hopefully within the next two weeks. If this happens, I will add it to my new book, Trump Aftershock, which comes out Nov. 6.

In Trump Aftershock, I take a Christian journalist’s approach and analyze Trump’s presidency. I try to look objectively at the facts while still interpreting them from a Christian point of view. Because of that, this book is not a puff piece. I deal honestly with Trump’s flaws and readily admit that he is not a perfect person. But overall, the book has a positive message because I report how God has used Trump for His purposes during the presidency.

My main point in the book is this: If Trump’s election was an earthquake, then all the things he has done since then are aftershocks. These aftershocks include exposing the deep state (just think of Lisa Page and Peter Strzok’s text messages); putting Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court bench; speaking up for Christians in his meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un; and even moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

I believe this book will cut through the media noise and reveal what the left doesn’t want to address. The book doesn’t come out until Nov. 6, but I encourage you to pre-order it on Amazon now. Also, visit trumpaftershock.com for more information and to download a couple of chapters free!
