Justin Bieber’s Candid Attitude Toward Turning Back to God

As pop sensation Justin Bieber makes his comeback, the secular media realize exactly how much his rebirth in the music scene has to do with being born again in the spiritual world.

“Enough with the Justin Bieber Show. I want to veer away from the self-centered attitude,” Bieber says

The sin to salvation story is so uncommon in their pages, Billboard chooses to open and close with it in a sign that Bieber’s conversion is palatable, and it’s the magazine’s most newsworthy item in the feature.

“Spend a few hours with Bieber and it’s clear he’s making a real effort to show some gratitude for his hashtag-blessed life,” Billboard’s Chris Martins writes of the reformed Bieber. “… When he enters a room today, Justin Drew Bieber shakes hands, makes eye contact and often greets strangers with something of a new catchphrase: ‘Appreciate you.'”

The spotlight on Bieber’s faith increased in recent months, as his latest album was banned for religious symbols while he bashed the idea of going to church.

“I was in a weird place and felt it in my soul,” Bieber says. “I was so lost, and I’m like, ‘Let me try to revisit my faith.'”

Bieber was even in attendance at Hillsong’s conference earlier this summer.

It’s all part of his journey, Bieber tells Billboard, to turn his music into inspiration.

“I’m so nervous,” he tells the magazine. “It’s hard to make meaningful songs that make you want to dance because it can come off cheesy. In the past I’ve recorded songs that I didn’t like, that I wouldn’t listen to, that the label was telling me to record. I’m self-expressing with this album—I can’t skip on the moments that were dark, the moments that were happy, the ex-girlfriend stuff. It makes it real, rather than ‘Let’s call up Max Martin to write you a hit song.’ I want my music to be inspiring.”

Now, the star appears to be putting his faith back together and taking one step at a time with the help of the church.
