Billy Graham has never been one to shy away from technology when it comes to spreading the Good News.

From radio to television to motion pictures, the gospel message has been sent out to far-reaching places like Angola, Armenia and the Amazon.

So it’s no surprise the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in an effort to reach the world for Christ by whatever means possible, leveraged the power of the Internet to share Jesus with people actively searching around the globe.

Still, it’s hard for some not to be in awe by how God has used BGEA’s Internet evangelism ministry, SearchForJesus.net, which recorded its three millionth decision for Christ on PeaceWithGod.net.

That’s right, in less than 2 ½ years since launching SearchForJesus.net in the spring of 2011, three million people have responded to a powerful Gospel presentation on the evangelistic website PeaceWithGod.net, indicating they prayed to receive Christ into their life.

“It’s a milestone, three million, but it’s not about numbers, it’s about people,” said Eric Célérier, who in August 2009 founded Jesus.net, BGEA’s ministry partner.

“Praise God,” said Célérier, who was at BGEA headquarters on Wednesday as he watched decision No. 2,999,999 post on the site from Afghanistan. “It’s about people behind the screen. It’s a real person in Afghanistan who has made a decision for Christ.”

Worldwide, there are roughly five million spiritual-related searches happening any given day through search engines. Through landing pages on a variety of engaging topics, people land on PeaceWithGod.net.

Of the three million decisions indicated, more than 370,000 people have filled out a form to receive follow-up discipleship materials. In addition, trained e-counselors are standing by to answer questions on PeaceWithGod.net through a chat function that works on both desktop and mobile devices. The BGEA also has active Internet evangelism ministries in Portugal, the Phillipines and Mexico.

“This is just the beginning of an adventure,” Célérier said. “We praise God with all our hearts.”
